Roy Escobar is a DJ who has been DJing for about 16 years now. As a kid, he got the nickname “Esco” due to his last name and the rapper Nas used it a lot so it just stuck with him. He fell in love with the sounds of music as a child always listening to his father play the keyboard and marimbas. “Esco” learned how to play the saxophone at a young age. Jazz music was his thing. Growing up he was influenced by Hip Hop, Spanish Music, and R&B. Roy had the best of both worlds. Escobar’s parents always had big parties at local halls to raise money in Peekskill just to put food on the table. They would bring in DJ’s from NYC. Watching the DJ get the crowd going was so awesome to him. So he started following DJs back when there were no social media. So “Esco” had to go hard listening on the radio and going out to clubs. He really got inspired by DJ Kid Capri, Spanish radio DJs like Johnny Famolari and Alex Sensation. Esco started his DJ career at a local bar called La Cuna Cafe that was the spot. He learned how to mix and blend music there. Back in 2013, he had the opportunity to play for a Spanish radio station in New York City X 96.3 FM. Now “DJ Esco” DJs in Peekskill, Middletown, White Plains, Bronx, Manhattan, Newburgh and also DJs in the Dominican Republic. One of his good friends helped him with public speaking with the mic and his name was “DJ Bacan Bacan”. “DJ Esco” loves what he does so much that he eventually began to do private events such as, Graduation Parties, Weddings, Sweet 16’s and more. His popularity began to grow even more with the following of his fans following him where ever he goes. One of his biggest achievements to date besides the radio was having the opportunity to DJ @ 1 of the biggest & hottest clubs in Westchester, “Prophecy Club” where he packed the house with 800 people.
